Position: Visa Officer
Type of employment: Permanent position/Full time
Starting date: As soon as possible

The Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark is looking for an energetic and systematic staff member to fill the position as Visa Officer.
The Visa Officer will be working in the Visa and Consular Team and reports to the Consul. In the daily work, the colleague will work closely with the team’s other Visa Officers.
Main tasks and responsibilities
You will primarily be handling visa applications from Chinese citizens going to Schengen. Your job will be to handle the cases in a service minded way, while also showing that you can manage the Schengen rules. As a Visa Officer you will need to demonstrate sound judgement and ability to handle complex rules, always delivering results with a high level of service that will match Denmark's elevated reputation in China. The work comprises important control functions in connection with the visa case processing; you must show an understanding for, and the ability of scrutinizing visa applications and showing great thoroughness and responsibility in your work in general. You will also assist with other visa related or consular related tasks within the team.
Required qualifications and experience
We are looking for a team player, who delivers a high level of service, efficiency and attention to detail.
Relevant higher education
Good language skills: fluent in Chinese and English. Knowledge of Danish language is an advantage, but not a requirement
Relevant work experience
Sense of detail in each case combined with the ability to see the visa work as an important part of presenting Denmark as an attractive country
Experience with working in a cross-cultural work place
The ability to work in a political environment
Assertive personality and the ability to handle difficult situations with a smile and in a competent manner
