德国美因茨大学
分子生理研究所招聘博士后
Position Introduction
The group of Prof. Dorothee Dormann investigates the molecular causes of neurodegenerative diseases, with a focus on disease-linked RNA-binding proteins with intrinsically disordered regions. We study their nucleocytoplasmic transport, phase separation and physiological functions and how these processes are misregulated in disease. We combine biochemistry, biophysics with cell and molecular biology and mainly use cell cultures and in vitro systems.

Research context
In a project funded by the Collaborative Research Center 1551 (www.crc1551.com) on Polymer Concepts in Cellular Function, we would like to study and better understand phase separation, nucleic acid-binding properties and biological functions of arginine and glycine (RG)-rich proteins, prototype phase-separating proteins with numerous links to human diseases.
Requirements
In addition to the general requirements according to public services law, applicants must meet the recruitment requirements stipulated in § 57 of the Hochschulgesetz of Rhineland-Palatinate.
A successfully completed university degree
A recent (or upcoming) PhD degree in Biophysics, Biochemistry, Biology or related area
Experience with at least one of the following: Biophysics, biochemistry, proteomics, RNA biology or neuropathology
Good team spirit and enthusiasm to engage in interdisciplinary collaborations, e.g. with chemists and computational biologists
Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written)
What we have to offer:
An international and vibrant working environment
Training opportunities in an interdisciplinary research network (www.crc1551.com)
Access to excellent Core Facilities, e.g. Proteomics, Genomics, Bioinformatics, Imaging, Flow Cytometry
Jobticket, optional for the entire Rhine-Main area
Extensive human resources development offers
Flexible working time arrangements
The position is paid according to EG 13 TV-L and to be filled as soon as possible. The position is temporary for a fixed term until December 31st, 2026.
