Description

Two PhD candidates m/f in experimental physics with a strong interest in ultra-fast laser spectroscopy on biological and chemical system.

 

your tasks:

1.      Setup of nonlinear optical experiments;

     Performing ultra-fast time-resolved experiments in the visible and

infrared spectral region;

     Tracking of photo-isomerization reactions in real-time;

     Analysis of complex dynamical datasets;

     Performing 2D-IR experiments;

2.      Tailored photoreactions with shaped pulses;

     Performing ultra-fast time-resolved experiments in the visible and infrared spectral region;

     Multi-photon microscopy on biological tissues with spatio-temporal shaped pulses;

     Analysis of complex dynamical datasetsyour profiles;

 

You hold a Master degree in one of the natural sciences.

 

You have outstanding hands-on EXPERIMENTAL experience in at least two of following fields:

    1 nonlinear optics, esp. NOPA, IR-OPA and frequency conversion.

    2 vibrational spectrum analysis,

    3 ultra-fast infra-red spectroscopy,

    4 pump-probe techniques, and

 

Furthermore, basic theoretical concepts in chromophore, coordination chemistry and fundamental knowledge in:

   1 Quantum chemistry,

   2 programming in MatLab, LabVIEW or python, and

   3 scientific writing and presentation are preferred.

 

Requirement on English language:

    cet 6 or toefle or ielts

    NO German language requirement

 

Finance:

    CSC (www.csc.edu.cn) or DAAD (www.dad.de) or mother institute of applicant.

 

Duration:

    3 years with limited possibility of extension and first 6 months as probationary period
